Victron Energy has introduced the Cerbo GX MK2, MK1 deprecated.

Victron Energy has introduced the Cerbo GX MK2, an enhanced version of its multifunctional communication center, the Cerbo GX. This upgrade brings several hardware improvements while maintaining the same form factor, aiming to provide users with a more efficient and user-friendly experience.

Key Enhancements in the Cerbo GX MK2:

  • Dual VE.Can Ports: The MK2 model features two fully functional CAN bus ports, designated as VE.Can 1 and VE.Can 2. Notably, VE.Can 1 is isolated, enhancing compatibility with various devices and improving system integration.

  • Reoriented RJ45 Sockets: The RJ45 ports have been rotated 180 degrees, facilitating easier cable removal and installation, thereby simplifying the setup process.

  • Enhanced USB Functionality: All three USB ports on the MK2 are now fully operational, expanding connectivity options for peripheral devices.

  • Pulse Counting Capability: The digital inputs now support pulse counting, broadening the range of applications and enabling more precise monitoring of various system parameters.

These upgrades make the Cerbo GX MK2 particularly beneficial for specific applications, such as in the RV market in the United States, where integration with devices like the Lynx Smart BMS and RV-C port is required.

It's important to note that while the Cerbo GX MK2 offers these enhancements, the original Cerbo GX remains fully functional and continues to meet the needs of many users. However, as part of Victron Energy's product lifecycle, the MK1 will be phased out and replaced with the MK2 as production scales up.
